2025 End of Year
Hello all,
I wanted to share a quick update about what has been going on in my world and what is coming next. On December 1, I published my second novel, Alastair and the Withering Moon. I wrote it for my son. It is a story about a father and son, their bond, and that moment every parent faces when you have to let your child try, stumble, and grow on their own. My hope is that I will read it to him as he gets older, and that it will mean something different to him each time.
I actually wrote Alastair and the Withering Moon at the same time I was writing The Quiet Man. Two totally different genres, two completely different parts of my brain.
For the last two and a half months, I have been deep into a new project: Serial Husbands. It is the first book in a planned six book series and focuses on LGBTQIA+ characters as the ones driving the story forward as complex, morally gray people, not just side characters, tokens, or victims. I really wanted to create something that shows we can be anything in fiction, even if the characters make questionable choices along the way.
My plan for the rest of the year is to have my beta readers finish reading Serial Husbands and send their feedback so I can finalize edits and start pitching to literary agents. At the same time, I am working through research on more than one thousand agents to figure out which ones might be the best fit for this manuscript. So here is hoping for a book deal sometime in the near future.
I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday season, and thank you for following along on this journey. Stay tuned for what is coming from me in 2026.
