About Me

Who I Am and What I Write

My name is Travis Warman. I am a queer author, pharmacist, and veteran who lives in Arizona with my husband and our son. I grew up in the SF Bay Area, where books became my earliest source of comfort and imagination. That love eventually turned into a desire to write stories that reflect the world I know. My work often focuses on chosen family, secrecy, identity, and the emotional weight people carry through their lives.

The Quiet Man

My debut novel, The Quiet Man, is a literary thriller about silence, hidden histories, and the lingering impact of trauma. The story follows the aftermath of a devastating act of violence and the long reach that grief and repression can have on the people left behind. I released this novel in September 2025 as an independent author.

Statement on AI

Every story I create begins and ends with a person. I believe in human creation and human writing, and every book I publish is built the old-fashioned way: imagination, craft, research, revision, and time at the page. No shortcuts. What you read here is authored by me, shaped by my hands, and meant to feel unmistakably alive.

I write from the heart. During my medical retirement from the U.S. Army in 2012–2013, I spent a lot of long, quiet days alone in my barracks, working on the story that would become my first novel, The Quiet Man. I did not finish it until more than a decade later, but it started there, on those days when writing was the only thing that made the time feel like it meant something.
